Finding the Marina by
Boat:
Whilton Marina is at the bottom of the Long Buckby flight of Locks on
the Grand Union main line canal. There are plenty of canal side visitor’s moorings.
Once you have arrived at our marina come into sales office. This is the hub of our business where we help people realise
their dreams, whether they are buying or selling a narrowboat. You will be able to view the display boards showing
all the boats we have for sale. If you have any questions you can discuss your queries with a member of our fully trained staff and ask any questions you may need answering. Don’t be shy when it
comes to talking to the team, we are a friendly bunch and want to help you find
the right boat.
In the Sales Office we show case all the narrow boats we have on
sale. They are displayed in price order, making it easier to find boats that
match your budget. We advise that you look at boats at the top of your budget and below
your price range. This will give you a good idea what you can get for your
money.
It costs nothing to look at our boats and you don’t even
need to make an appointment. We won't pressurise or hassle you, so please feel free to visit us as many times as you like and if you
need our help all you need to do is ask!
The Key Management
System
Once you have browsed the display boards and found the boats
you are interested in viewing, we will register you onto our key management
system. This is a quick and easy process; we just need to take a few basic
details from you including your mobile phone number.
This will enable us to keep track of where the keys are. This information is used to update the vendors area of our website where owners of the boats for
sale can log in, and see how many times their boat has been viewed.
The system will also remember your details, so the next time
you request to view any boats you just need to give us the telephone number that you registered with.
We usually give out three sets of keys at a time, so once you
have been booked onto the system and have the keys which have the boat numbers
on them; you will be given a colour coded map to help you find the boats on the
marina.
Black - Boats for sale
Red – Boats under offer*
Blue – Boats sold*
*Note; these boats are not available for viewing.
Outside the sales office you can see the marina opposite the
entrance, taking a small flight of stairs you will precede down to the marina
itself.
You will notice that in all the
windows of the boats that there is a QR reader, use this to download the boats
pdf brochure. It’s often the case you will come across a boat that takes your
interest that you missed in the sales room. Simply zap the QR reader with your mobile device to see the brochure for that boat, and when
you come back into the office you can request the keys for the boats.
Also in the window you will find some basic information
about the boat:
-
Boat Name
- Price
- Builder
- Length
- Engine Type
So that’s it – now it’s just a case of you viewing the boats
and hopefully finding the boat of your dreams!
