London to the Chiltern Hills. Walk,
Jog, or Run it. Happening on the 27/28 June 2015
A fantastic
event is going to be held on the 27th and 28th of June
along the Grand Union Canal, which just happens to be the longest waterway in
Britain and right on our door step!
On the 27th
June Saturday morning walkers, runners and joggers will set off from Central
London at Little Venice and start the 100km trip all the way to the Chiltern
Hills.
They will travel along the towpath through fantastic country side taking
in the wonders of the canal system.
Now you may
not fancy walking, jogging or running the route, but you could cruise it!
Cruising Along The Grand Union Canal
There's
plenty to see along the Grand Union Canal. Starting from the heart of London,
it leads you out into the rolling Chiltern Hills, through rural
Northamptonshire & Warwickshire and into the Birmingham suburbs.
A Few Wonderful Sights You Will See Along
The Way:
- The
magnificent Iron Trunk Aqueduct
- Hatton
Lock Flight
- The
Canal Museum at Stoke Bruerne
- The
Paddington Arm runs through a lively and attractive area of West London
- The
Slough Arm is an unexpectedly green and rural bit of canal, passing through the
pretty town of Iver.
