Marina Dredging finishes at last!!

The marina has been dredged this winter, this was last done about 15 years ago.  The operation took a good four months because it was hampered by the icy weather earlier in the winter. The ice needed breaking most mornings before the dredgers could start work.  The moorers narrowboats were moved out of each pontoon in turn so that the dredger could work accross the marina methodically.  The water was pumped out of the marina in a similar method to a combine harvester.  The water and silt was then pumped via a long pipe to settlement lagoons in a field adjacent to the marina.
