Tax & HMRC.
Don't panic it’s quite straight forward.
Example 1: You are selling part time and are PAYE. You will
need to fill in a self-assessment form declaring the extra income you earn from
your boat business.
Example 2: It’s your only income, then you need to register
as a sole trader with HMRC. Again you will have to fill in a self-assessment
form.
If you become really
successful you can then consider Limited Company status and registering for
VAT.
Keep your accounts in good order, this makes it easier to
fill in your self-assessment form and if you employ an account it will help
keep the costs down.
This information is from the HMRC website:
You must keep records so that you can fill in the return
fully and accurately.
Your basic business records must include:
·
- a record of all
your sales and takings
·
- a record of all
your purchases and expenses"
