How It Started

Whilton marina is a family run business, which was started way back in 1970 by David Steele and is now run by two of his sons and grandsons. For more about the history of the marina click here.

Here and Now

Today the marina is stocked with a variety of narrow boats for sale and also provides around 200 moorings.

All the boats for sale at Whilton Marina are marketed to sell and are realistically priced, meaning that the turnover of boats is incredibly high which is good news is for sellers, buyers and us.

How Do We Do It?

Firstly, years of experience has given us the edge and the heads up to what our customers want, and how to successfully achieve quick sales.

Marketing plays a big part in the quick selling of our stock boats.

We have a coordinated marketing programme in place which helps us obtain our goals and objectives.

We know what our customers expect from us, we have listened and learned over the years and this is why we can now provide a match matching service. Prospective buyers enroll onto our complex database that gathers important information, this allows us to match our boats to the right people. If we don’t have a boat to match a buyers requirements at the time of registration, we do our upmost to find a boat that does meet their needs.

There are plenty of places to stay near the marina. if you fancy staying for a few days to look at our boats and talking to our staff about your new venture. The marina is open 7 days a week and no appointment is necessary.  

Sellers

Leave your boat at the marina for free, with no mooring charges whilst it's for sale with us, and you don't need to have a CRT licence for the boat whilst it's in our marina either.

We will keep you updated on the viewings and offers we obtain on your boat. You can also log into our Vendors area of the website and check for yourself how the marketing is progressing; With a click of a button a seller can see how many people have viewed their boat via the website, and how many times the boat has been viewed in the marina. Once an offer has been made, the seller can also track the sales process from survey to completion, each stage of the process is logged and dated and available at all times via the website.
